Have you ever had a chance to write a Haiku? Have you ever delved deep into one to truly try and understand what was happening?
I have always been enthralled by this format but it took me a while to fall for them. It took me a while to truly understand and enjoy the beauty in the minimum words and elegance of a Haiku. For the most part, the ones I’ve come across until now tend to be open-ended. The poet never truly calls out exactly what he’s talking about. And I think that makes them even more relatable.
When you spend an amount of time trying to truly understand what the poet was talking about or what he truly meant by his words, our minds would have found a way to connect our personal life or situation there and understand it the way it relates to us. And that right there, that exactly what I love about a Haiku.
Here’s my first attempt at one. Do read and let me know what you think!
Amidst the green swaying trees,
Only the one consuming and constant thought,
In a life taken over.
So what do you think I’m talking about? Did this relate to you? How?
I hope you liked it and I hope you have a great day!
