She stepped out into the night, a gust of wind swirled around her.
She pulled her cap over her head, bracing herself against the cold.
She began her walk, each step taking her farther away.
Farther she walked, away from the warm place she considered home.
Every step fell heavy in her heart, but she knew she didn’t have a choice.
Her steps grew harder and faster, she couldn’t let herself back out.
She didn’t know where this path would lead her.
She didn’t know if this was the right path.
She refused to believe that this was the wrong way to go.
She took a deep breath in, she knew this was the only choice she had.
Her steps got slower, her heart calmed down.
